Ab Fab £250,000 Postcode Lottery Win for Milan

Ten years ago, Milan Rana moved to the UK from Nepal. Now living in Plumstead, London he plans on using a £250,000 Postcode Lottery win to kickstart his life.

His great-grandfather was a Gurkha who was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery shown while fighting in World War One.

Mr Rana is a chef who moved to the UK where he joined some family members. He thanked Dame Joanna Lumley who led a campaign to allow Gurkha veterans to settle here. If she’s heard this news, then she’s likely to describe it as “Absolutely Fabulous.”

Wonderful dream

With his Postcode Lottery winnings, the father-of-two wants to buy a house “and have a nice and peaceful life.” His “wonderful dream” is a home he can share with his parents and other family members.”   A £100,000 Postcode Lottery winner got on the property ladder  after his big win.

“Sometimes when dreams become a reality, it is wonderful," said the delighted Postcode Lottery winner. The family now intend to enjoy a camping holiday in Tunbridge Wells.

Also celebrating a big win are Richie Carter and Emma O’Dell from Portland in London. The ex-forces couple each won £66.666 playing the Postcode Lottery.

They met two decades ago while serving on a Royal Navy ice patrol ship in Antarctica.  It was in 2020 that the couple got married at Portland Castle. That was during the pandemic and the only guests were neighbours who acted as witnesses for the ceremony.

The couple began playing after his brother-in-law’s sister won £10,000 a decade ago. A Derbyshire couple who won £250,000  started playing after a friend won a £48,000 Postcode Lottery prize.

Mr Carter explained that they both bought tickets because “you'd be pig sick if only one of us won."

Richie now works in site maintenance and Emma is a veterinary nurse. Plans for their Postcode Lottery winnings include buying a new car. It’ll have to be a large one so their dog and some paddleboarding and fishing gear can join them.
