Triple Joy for £499,998 Postcode Lottery Winner

Catherine Heathcote is going to become a globetrotter after a £499,998 Postcode Lottery win. No wonder the Derbyshire resident describes herself as “the luckiest person ever.”

The mother-of-four comes from the Peak District village Taddington and won nearly half of the £1 million prize her postcode won. Other players received £166,666 but Catherine had purchased three tickets to win £499,998.

The delighted winner is now planning a family holiday to Texas, USA.  Also planned are trips to Singapore and Australia. When she is home, Catherine will be enjoying the new en-suite bathroom that will soon be fitted.

It was after seeing the Postcode Lottery television advertisements that she considered playing. This week has seen the National Lottery launch a new advertising campaign.

“Time to play”

Then a leaflet came through her door and she “took it as a sign that it was my time to play.” The former Manchester resident couldn’t believe it when receiving her three Postcode Lottery cheques.

“It didn’t even register when I was told I'd won two MORE cheques. I was just shocked to win £166,666,” said the Postcode Lottery winner.

“I know it sounds daft but if I won £1,000 it would have been nice,” added the delighted hospitality worker.

Yorkshire celebrations

Also celebrating a Postcode Lottery win are Sophie Roberts-Long and her wife, Lily. After playing for just six months, the couple from Keyworth in Yorkshire, England won £250,000. It’s the latest big win in the county after  the Corcoran family enjoyed a Postcode Lottery success.

It was after a friend won £48,000 that they became Postcode Lottery players. “I can’t believe we’ve won so quickly, it’s mental. We’re so grateful,” said Sophie.

Lily commented that receiving the call telling them they’d won was “like Christmas Eve.”  In a way it was because just like a well-hidden Christmas present, at that point they had no idea what was going to be received.

Their Postcode Lottery win will help them achieve their dream of buying their first home.
