“Crazy Few Days” For £333,333 Postcode Lottery Winner

Just a few days after helping firefighters, Tom Canning from Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, England, won a £333,333 Postcode Lottery prize.

Tom works as an on-call maintenance technician and had to go to Hemel Hempstead hospital after a fire had been started. He helped sort out the alarms in the building and ensure the fire brigade had access to key areas and thankfully, no one was injured.

All that was happening around midnight on Sunday when he’d have preferred to be tucked up in bed. 36 hours later he was told of his £333,333 Postcode Lottery win. No wonder he describes recent times as “a crazy few days.”

Two other residents also won a £333,333 prize. Borehamwood is becoming a great place to play the Postcode Lottery after a big win last year.

The father-of-four let slip an expletive when finding out just how much he’d won. Tom is past the retirement age but are his working days over now? “I could walk in tomorrow and say, 'I don't need to come here anymore'. But I wouldn't do that to them,” said the Postcode Lottery winner.

Now he plans to do some work on the flat he shares with his wife Vicky. That’ll include a new sofa and chair.”  Will they be purple like  the chair a recent £125,000 Postcode lottery winner bought ?

Cautious

The Postcode Lottery winner will also  buy a static caravan in Clacton-on-Sea. That’s something his wife has long dreamed of since getting rid of their last one ten years ago. It’ll be second-hand though. The cautious winner joked that his wife can “have whatever she wants... well, within limitations."

Off to Spain

Some overseas holidays are also being planned.  He’s been to Spain several times and a return visit is now on its way.  That’s just what a £250,000 Postcode Lottery winner did  this year.

Trips to Italy and other European countries are also being planned. The win is good news for his youngest son who will have driving lessons paid for.
