Dream Move to St Lucia for £1 million EuroMillions Winners
A lottery win really can change your life. That’s been the case for Bill and Cath Mullarkey whose £1 million EuroMillions win seven years ago allowed them to move to the Caribbean.
The couple from Coventry in England (who are both in their 60s) had just been on a holiday to St Lucia and had just bought a plot of land on the island. On their return they discovered they’d won £1 million playing the EuroMillions draw.
They were regular lottery players having played “many, many times.” We all have dreams and there’s was to move to St Lucia and open their own restaurant. That Caribbean island is so special to them as that is where they first met.
Mr Mullarkey recalled the moment they found out about their £1 million EuroMillions win. He thought it might just be a promotional message. He was shocked as a Halloween party goer when finding out about their big win.
No brainer
The EuroMillions winner was fearful that they might receive a call saying it was all a mistake. It was all very real and they were able to plan on how to make their dreams come true. When considering ‘where do we really want to settle down.” he said it was “a no brainer.”
They could now afford to build a house in St Lucia and it has gorgeous mountain views. Last November saw them open their restaurant ‘Brigands Hideaway’ on the ground floor. £148 million EuroMillions winner Adrian Bayford recently opened a wine-making business.
“It’s doing quite well, and it’s nice working for ourselves,” said Mr Mullarkey. Cath’s local food is going down a storm with the local residents and tourists. Her brothers are fishermen so supply the restaurant with fresh fish.
Even happier now
He added “We were happy before, but we are even happier now, knowing that we have this. I’m grateful every day of my life and so is Cath, for the change that it’s managed to bring us.”
Friday’s EuroMillions draw has an £81 million jackpot.
