€250 million EuroMillions Jackpot Won by French-Sold Ticket

The two month wait for a EuroMillions jackpot win finally ended last night. A ticket sold in France won an amazing €250 million (about £216 million).

It’s only the third time this amount has ever been won, and the first time by a French-sold ticket.  The previous highest EuroMillions jackpot won by France was €220 million   four years ago.

The winning numbers were: 24-31-34-41-43 and the two Lucky Stars. With a selection like that, it must rule out players who use birthdays or anniversaries to make their selection.

In addition to the EuroMillions jackpot win, there were seven tickets that won the second-tier prize. It was certainly a lucky draw for France as four tickets sold there matched the five main balls and one of the Lucky Stars, each winning €270,238.90. Could the jackpot winner also have won a second-tier prize?

Of the other three near-misses, tickets in Spain and Portugal won €270,238.90 with a UK ticket winning its owner(s) £182,967.60.

This latest win means France has now sold 132 jackpot winning tickets. That puts them level with the UK with Spain third on 122. France is the only country to have had over 1 million winners of any EuroMIllions prize.

In 2025, the EuroMIllions jackpot has been won on seven occasions. It’s the third time this year that over €200 million has been won. June saw  an Irish family win a €250 million EuroMillions  jackpot.

France and the UK have both had two jackpot wins this year with the others coming from Austria, Ireland and Belgium.

With the massive jackpot now being won, it might not be too long before another one comes along. The last EuroMIllions Superdraw took place in March, the only one this year. There was one due to be held in June but the jackpot at the time was so large, it was cancelled.

Not since 2019 has there only been three EuroMIllions Superdraws in a calendar year. The next EuroMillions draw is on Friday August 22 with a £14 million top prize.
