Family Celebrations after $900,000 Saturday Lotto Win

Three family members from Southern Sydney in New South Wales, Australia are celebrating winning over $900,000 in the Saturday Lotto draw held on April 13.

It was certainly a lucky draw for them as in total they had 28 winning lines. Their total win was a fantastic $907,881.02. The lion share of their windfall was the $862,332.62 for a division one win.

Last September saw  three tickets sold in New South Wales each win a $768,013.61 Saturday Lotto prize.

It’s crazy!

The family buys their tickets together so the winning amount will be split three-ways. One of the female members of the lucky family said of their win: “Thank you! It’s crazy!”

They didn’t check the results of the Saturday Lotto draw until the day after it had taken place. The spokesperson for the family knew that they had a few winning numbers but added: “I had no idea we’d won division one.”

Even when seeing on Facebook that there’d been a local division one winner, she still didn’t realise their ticket was the winner. Eventually, they went to their local newsagency and the “incredible news” was revealed.

More comfortable now

The Saturday Lotto win will make a “huge difference” to them. “Not just to me but to my family and my sibling’s families too. We’ll all be able to feel more comfortable,” said the delighted winner. Plans for the Saturday Lotto win include paying off mortgages “and a big family holiday.”

Their winning Saturday Lotto ticket was purchased from the Lugarno News & Post. It's owned by John Chan who said: “We are just as happy as our winner!”.  He recalled how when they found out about their win, “we all did a happy dance together.”

It’s a big occasion for the newsagency as they’d never previously sold a division one winning ticket for the Saturday Lotto. They are a lucky store to buy tickets from with three division one wins in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto.
