Fistpumps Galore for $247,558.90 Lotto Max Syndicate Winners

A syndicate of 12 warehouse workers from Scarborough in Canada have won a $247,558.90 Lotto Max prize. The rest of the day seems to have been spent celebrating that win rather than working hard.

The syndicate has been playing the Lotto Max draw since 2020. Each week they dream of winning a big lottery prize and on January 12 those dreams became true. Just four days later  a man landed a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot.

That draw saw them scoop the second tier prize of $247,558.90. Each of the lucky Lotto Max winners will receive $20,630.

Shocked

It was Ryan Galceran from Scarborough who discovered their big win. His discovery was made when looking on the OLG app. When realising the syndicate had won a big prize, Ryan admits that he was shocked.

A big smile then appeared on his face and he began the task of letting the other syndicate members know about their win.

That included James Karl Nadela who said that when first being told the news, the syndicate members all went quiet. That didn’t last long though and the smiles soon began to appear.

Fist pumping all day

Syndicate member Arnel Victor Dizon added: “Once the win settled in, we all started cheering and chanting together in celebration.”  Dizon added that “It was like walking [on] a cloud. We kept fist bumping all day!”

After waiting four years for a big win, it’s no wonder there were such celebrations and a lack of work being carried out. Another syndicate member is Tanaka Liwan from Toronto who said that she felt happy in her heart and had never won such a prize in her life.

Darwin Fernandez was also delighted with the win. People often dream of getting a big lottery win and it’s an amazing moment when it finally happens. Fernandez said that the feeling was “better than expected.”

The celebrations have continued for them with a group dinner being held with all of their families.
