Gut Feeling Leads to $40 million Lotto Max Jackpot Win

Phuc Phuc Chau from Vancouver in Canada had a gut feeling he’d win and that’s just what has happened. He won a $40 million Lotto Max jackpot in the draw held on May 23 and has now claimed his fantastic winnings.

Last month he had a craving for some sparkling water and went to a convenience store in Burnaby. While there, Phuc Phuc (Daniel) decided to buy two Lotto Max tickets and one changed his life.

He was at work when discovering he was a multi-millionaire. It wasn’t his intention to check his tickets, he was looking in his bag for a cough drop. Then he saw the two Lotto Max tickets and decided  to scan them.

There was a slight delay as he had to update the lottery app on his phone. Once done, he checked his tickets and the first didn’t win anything.

It was a different story with the next one and the app told him he’d won $40 million.  Kyle Murray won a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot  with his first ticket.

Dropped phone

“I have never seen that many zeros in my life,” he recalled. His phone was dropped in shock but not broken so he called the lottery company.

Even though his Lotto Max win was confirmed, it wasn’t until June 19 that his prize was claimed. In that time he hadn’t told anyone else about his amazing lottery success, not even his partner.
Explaining why that was so, Chau said: “I want to share the news with them in a special way.”

Now he can begin to fulfil his dream of travelling around the world. There are so many places he wants to visit and now he can. Mohit Sharma is planning  train journeys galore after his $65 million Lotto Max win.

Helping others

The Lotto Max winner (who hasn’t quit working) also wants to help his community. That’s something which is very important to him. Speaking about his win, he commented: “It’s not meaningful unless you can share this with those who need it.”
