Lucky Break for £90,909 Postcode Lottery Winner

Less than 24 hours after undergoing surgery, Gemma Archer from Swansea in Wales won a £90,909 Postcode Lottery prize.

On Easter Sunday, the mother-of-three went roller-skating for the first time. After just ten minutes, it all went wrong and she broke both a wrist and a forearm. Even after that she can’t wait to go roller-skating again. Surgery was needed but now she’s had a much luckier break.

Her day was supposed to see her taken out by friends to try and forget the pain from her injury.  Instead, it was going to be celebrations all day with friends and family.

The lucky player is already looking forward to booking a holiday with her best friend. Her three sons are all going to be treated. “They are going to have an amazing year - holidays and whatever they want,” said their proud mother.

Also winning a £90,909 Postcode Lottery prize was Kay-Marie Astley. That’s despite the fact she hasn’t lived in the winning postcode since 2019 and now lives in the nearby village of Resolven.

When moving house, she thought her new postcode would have to be used for future draws. Then the mother-of-one was told that wasn’t necessary so she kept playing it.  That’s what Ian Calver did and he won £111,111on the Postcode Lottery.

The delighted winner said that her win means “freedom of choice” like she’s never had before. “When it hits the bank account it’ll be wow!” added the Postcode Lottery winner.

Dimuthu is also delighted with his £90,909 win. After moving to the UK from Sri Lanka three years ago, he now works as a care home assistant. He joked: “This is crazy. I’ve got a sore face from smiling.” It’s the latest Postcode Lottery win in Wales after  a Penarth player won £640,000 on this lottery.

Speaking about his Postcode Lottery win, he said that “I’ll live the same, but my life will be changed.”  He loves to travel and future trips include going to Germany but now a long-wanted holiday in the USA looks likely.
