No Sale Means £142,857 Postcode Lottery Win

It sometimes takes a fair while to sell a house. Thankfully, Colin and Janet Homer from Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire, England haven’t found a buyer yet. Because of that, they have won a £142,857 Postcode Lottery prize.

Their home had been put up for sale two weeks before this big Postcode Lottery win. They’d agreed that a quick sale would have led to them cancelling their ticket but Colin said “fate had other ideas.”  A recent £250,000 Postcode Lottery winner  nearly cancelled their ticket. 

His wife says she has her late father to thank for their win. It was he who had suggested they play the Postcode Lottery after he’d won £1,000. “He’s looking down on us now. I’m sure he is,” said his emotional daughter.

It’s the latest big win in the county after  Tom Canning from Borehamwood won a £333,333 Postcode Lottery prize.

Difficult time

Their win comes after a difficult couple of years as their son battled a rare form of blood cancer. He’s now in remission though. Other family members have also been ill so this win is a welcome change of luck. Some of their winnings will be put towards their new home.

Also winning a £142,857 Postcode Lottery prize were neighbours Bev Gorrie and her husband Martin.

White feather

Bev also thanked her late father for their win. The day before they found out about their success, she found a white feather on the windscreen of her car. “That was my dad. I just thought, he's looking down on us,” said the Postcode Lottery winner.

Martin is a busy guy and joked that he lives in his work clothes. He says this win will allow them to “sort ourselves out and start living a bit.” That will include the date nights he keeps promising his wife.

Kathy LeClerq and her partner Savva Antoniou are also celebrating a £142,857 Postcode Lottery prize. The win came a week before Savva’s birthday. Kathy is planning a trip to Mauritius to see her mother.
