No Slap-Up Meal after $1.4 million Lottery Win

What delicacies would you treat yourself to after receiving a $1.4 million Saturday Lotto prize? A couple from Perth, Australia had a seafood omelette and some extra spring rolls.

The lucky players were successful this month but it took a while to find out about their win. They didn’t see the lottery draw live but later saw on social media news of a local win in the Banksia Grove area.

A $40 million Australian Powerball winner went a week before finding out  about their win.

“Not flashy people”

When checking their lottery ticket, the $1.4 million win was discovered. The couple say they are “not flashy people.”  They were looking forward to their omelette at a local Chinese restaurant.

Retirement isn’t planned but some time off work is. They’ll then travel around Australia in their caravan. A first ever trip to Melbourne to see the AFL Grand Final is also on their to-do list.

Also celebrating a big lottery win this month is a man in his 40s from Western Australia. He won $1 million in the August 6 Millionaire’s Medley draw. Last November  saw  a Western Australia syndicate win a $30 million Australian Powerball jackpot.

What a present

He recently celebrated his birthday and his partner gave him a lottery ticket as a present. Now that’s the kind of gift anyone would love to receive.

At first, they thought only a few thousand dollars had been won. Then the next day, they realised their lottery win was actually $1 million. All this shocked the male winner who kept saying to his partner “don’t be playing me babe.”

They’ve also been going to a local cafe for a celebratory meal. With their $1 million lottery win, they are now looking to get onto the property ladder, all thanks to a birthday present.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the winner of a $100 million Australian Powerball jackpot two months ago. The winning ticket wasn’t registered so lottery officials don’t know who purchased it.  Last week saw a “memory jog” take place along Bondi Beach.
