Married Couple Win €4.43m Irish Lotto Jackpot While on Bank Holiday Break

MARRIED COUPLE WIN €4.43M IRISH LOTTO JACKPOT WHILE ON BANK HOLIDAY BREAK

A married couple from the south of Ireland had a Bank Holiday break to remember.  That’s because during their trip they purchased an Irish Lotto ticket that won a €4.43m Irish Lotto jackpot in the October 27 draw. The lucky Irish Lotto winners have asked to remain anonymous, just like the man from Sydney, Australia who recently won a $200,000 Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize.  They were on a Bank Holiday break with their children when deciding to buy an Irish Lotto ticket from Ryan’s Daybreak store in the village of Milltown, Co. Galway.“Anytime we are away from home we play the Lotto when we are passing through a random town," the Irish Lotto winners commented. It’s common for holidaymakers to do just that. Richard Rinaudot from Florida, USA, was visiting family in Maryland when buying a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket. James Smith from Pennsylvania, USA, was on holiday in Maryland and purchased a Keno ticket that won him $15,000 while on the way to the beach. Several members of an Irish syndicate that won €278,540 playing EuroMillions said they would be going on holidays. On the night of the draw, the couple heard that a ticket sold in Galway had won the Irish Lotto jackpot. “While we obviously dreamed it might be us, nothing really prepares you for the shock when you actually check your ticket to find out that you’ve won a €4.4 million jackpot. It still hasn’t sunk in,” said the delighted winners. Their winning numbers in the October 27 Irish Lotto draw were: 14-24-30-38-40-45 and in all they won €4,439,459.They described the moment when they discovered they were the winners of the Irish Lotto jackpot as an “emotional experience.” The first thing they did after checking their ticket was to write a list of the family and friends that they would now be able to help thanks to their Irish Lotto jackpot win.The Irish Lotto winners have also selected a number of charities in their local area who they can assist. In Oxfordshire, England, Pam Aird won a £1m EuroMillions windfall and used some of it to help her local theatre.Other plans for their Irish Lotto windfall include paying off their mortgage and securing the future of their children.  They added that despite becoming Irish Lotto millionaires, they would not change their lifestyle and won’t be quitting their jobs. What would you do with a millionaire lottery jackpot?
