€190m EuroMillions won by one ticket-holder in Britain
The lucky player becomes the largest ever EuroMillions winner from the UK by scooping £170m.
In Tuesday’s draw, the numbers were 7 – 10 – 15 – 44 – 49 with Lucky Stars 3 and 12.
The winner managed to match all five numbers and the two Lucky Stars to take down the jackpot.
EuroMillions has been rolling over for 22 consecutive draws up until this point. The jackpot cap was initially reached in the 24 September draw. After another four draws at the maximum jackpot, the 8 October draw was to be the last at that amount.
Camelot announced that the final amount won is £170,221,000. They are yet to know if the winner is a single-player or part of a syndicate.
EuroMillions winner now in top 1000 of Rich List
This win catapults the ticket holder to the top of the largest winner’s from the UK list. They overtake Colin and Chris Weir who won £161m in 2011.
It also puts them ahead on the UK rich list of music superstars Tom Jones and Calvin Harris, who are both worth £165m.
2019 has been a particularly lucky year for UK players. The year started off with a £114m win for Patrick and Frances Connolly. This was followed by Ade Goodchild with a £71m win in March and a £38m win by an anonymous player in April. In June, another anonymous winner scooped up £123m.
While this is the biggest win in the UK, it’s still small compared to the massive wins in the USA. The largest-ever jackpot of $1.58bn was split between three Powerball tickets in 2016. Each took home just over $327m after taxes.
The biggest single prize was awarded in 2018 to a Mega Millions player who captured a $1.53bn jackpot. After taxes, the South Carolina resident was awarded $877m.
