An Amazing Year for £836,114 Postcode Lottery Winner
Life has changed dramatically in the past year for Postcode Lottery winner Lauren Tomlinson from Rotherham, England. Winning £836,114 was fantastic, but giving birth to her daughter this year was even more special.
It’s a massive turnaround in fortunes for Lauren. Before her Postcode Lottery win last December, she’d been battling cancer and had been told being able to give birth was not possible.
Earlier this year, cancer patient Janet Edmunds from Newhaven in East Sussex won a £250,000 Postcode Lottery prize.
Towards the end of last year things began to change for Lauren. Doctors gave her the all-clear from her cancer and then she finally became pregnant. The Postcode Lottery win in December 2024 really was the icing on the cake for the baker.
Difficult birth
It was in April of this year that Lauren gave birth to her daughter but it was not to be an easy delivery. Elizabeth was seven weeks early and doctors feared she would be too small and struggle to breathe on her own.
An emergency Caesarean was needed and Elizabeth weighed just 3lbs when born. Thankfully all went well and Elizabeth has thrived since then.
Just how else has the Postcode Lottery win changed Lauren’s life? “The money has meant safety, first of all,” said the 34-year-old. “I just feel secure that all my future is going to be alright. I can literally fulfill every dream,” she added.
Expanding her business
Despite her big win and becoming a mother, Lauren is still working. Her Postcode Lottery win has helped Lauren to expand her baking business.
Lauren had always dreamed of owning her own shop. Now that has become a reality thanks to her Postcode Lottery success. Bridgemohan Neebar is expanding his business after a $5 million Lotto 6/49 win.
It’s not all about work though. Lauren has been able to book some great holidays with a trip to Jamaica in January 2026 being booked. That’ll be a brilliant time for Lauren, her partner Brandon and of course Elizabeth.
