Emotional Numbers Win £1 million UK Lotto Prize

How do you choose the numbers you hope will make you a millionaire?  Darren McGuire from Bolton in England used numbers related to his late father and they won him £1 million in the July 23 UK Lotto draw.

Darren, 46, said his father was born on March 2, 1948 and he passed away on September 21, 2011. The numbers that turned the lucky player and his partner, Laura Thwaites, 40 into millionaires were: 03-09-11-16-21-48 and the Bonus Ball 22.

Speaking about the decision to use the special selection, Darren said: “We all miss my Dad so much, and that’s why I have numbers relating to him that I enter into Lotto draws.” “Thank you Dad!” he added.

The day of the draw also saw two of their rose bushes suddenly bloom and a perfect red rose was created. “To me, it was a sign from Dad that this was the day and it certainly was, it’s mad!" said the UK Lotto winner.

New car

Already the couple have bought a Volvo CX90 to replace the car they hated so much. Now after being together for 20 years they are looking forward to finally  getting married just like a recent Postcode Lottery winner.

Work commitments and Laura falling pregnant nixed previous plans to tie the knot.  He’s just been too busy working as a gas engineer for a Bolton housing association every day of the week.

Darren says this UK Lotto win will help him “adjust my work-life balance a bit. He added that with his win under our belts we’re hoping to get married in real style sometime soon.”

Laura is looking forward to her partner spending more time at home. “That’s what winning will do for us.”

Some home conversions are on the way, turning their cellar into a bar and party room. Another recent  £1 million UK Lotto winner is creating his own ‘man-cave.’

A holiday to Spain is also being planned. While there, they will  “toast Dad or his part in our lives forever for the better.”
