No Retirement for $25 million Australian Powerball Winner

A man from Alice Springs in Australia is still in shock after winning a $25 million Australian Powerball jackpot. Even though he can easily afford to retire, he’s confirmed that his working days are not over.

His fantastic win came in  the draw held on October 9. His ticket was one of two that shared the $50 million jackpot. Neither ticket was registered so the lottery company didn’t know who had won.

The other $25 million Australian Powerball jackpot winner is yet to claim their winnings. This Alice Springs player didn’t see the draw and the winning ticket was kept in his ute until his wife suggested he check it.   A $20 million Australian Powerball ticket was kept on a fridge door.

When it came to checking the ticket, he did so in front of his wife. What a massive surprise awaited them!.

“I’m debt-free”

Speaking about his big win (believed to be the largest in the Northern Territory), he said: “Woo-hoo! I’m debt-free!”

Recalling the moment when their $25 million win was discovered. He said that neither he nor his wife could believe their amazing luck. Such was the shock of it all, his wife nearly fainted. As for the husband, he admitted: “I immediately burst into tears.”

Had they really won?  They kept on checking their Australian Powerball ticket time after time. No mistake had been made though and they had won the jackpot.

No retirement

Although he’s now a multi-millionaire he has ruled out retirement. “I’m going to continue to work - contribute to the workforce!”  Three players shared a $30 million Australian Powerball jackpot  and all decided to carry on working.

As well as being able to pay off all of his debts (including his mortgage), the Australian Powerball winner is going to help his family.  “I’ll also be able to look after the children and set them up for life,” said the generous jackpot winner.
