£524,000 EuroMillions Win is a Sweet Success

Valdet Bujupi from Barrow in Cumbria, England, has a rather persistent daughter. The three-year-old kept asking for some sweets. After the third request her father bought her some. He also purchased a EuroMillions ticket that won £524,000.

The 44-year-old father-of-two insists the winning ticket would never have been bought but for his daughter’s craving for sweets.  A couple from Liverpool thanked their dog for a £1 million EuroMillions win.

It’s certainly put her in his good books. “Our daughter, who was already daddy's princess, has now been promoted to the Queen," the EuroMillions winner joked.

His big win came in the September 5 draw. His ticket matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star.

His wife, Abbey, was busy doing some cleaning when her husband phoned her with news of the win. “I was not impressed at having to take off my rubber gloves to answer the phone,” she recalled.

“Book New York”

Her mood soon changed though when her husband said: “'book New York, I've won the lottery'." That’s a trip they’ve been saving up for since last Christmas.

They’ve got close to their target but Mrs Bujupi said something always seemed to “scupper our plans.” Now thanks to this EuroMillions win, their dream of going to the Big Apple is going to come true.

A mother from Portsmouth says that  she’ll be going on some “fabulous holidays” after her £1 million EuroMillions success.

It wasn’t so easy convincing their 12-year-old son that they’d won so much money. He thought a joke was being played on him until being shown the lottery app.

Helping mum

Other plans for Mr Bujupi include helping his mother who lives in Kosovo. He intends on doing all he can to “make her life a little bit easier". A new house and helping their children is also being planned, all because his daughter wanted some sweets.
