Shocks Galore For $2.5 million Saturday Lotto Winners

A woman from Wollert in Melbourne, Australia had no idea that she had won a $2.5 million Saturday Lotto prize. Another winner thought just $16.05 had been won.

To Wollert first and a surprising start to the new month for a very busy woman. Her win came in the November 1 Saturday Lotto draw. Eight tickets shared the $20 million jackpot.

The lucky winner works from home and had been so busy she hadn’t seen the draw or checked her emails. Her manic time working also meant she missed several calls from the lottery company.

Eventually she did pick up the phone and when told the news exclaimed: “Oh my god! What did you just say?”  The Saturday Lotto winner added: “I’ve won $2.5 million? Wait! I need to write this down.

Another Melbourne winner went a whole weekend  without knowing that he’d won $2.2 million playing Saturday Lotto.

It looks as if her working days are nearly over. “I’m turning 70 soon, and I think it’s time to finally finish work!” said the delighted winner.

Usually it is relatives who are the first to be told about a lottery win but not this player. “I’m currently telling my dog that we’ve won Lotto! He’s going to have the biggest inheritance!” she said.

More than he thought

Another of the $2.5 million Saturday Lotto winners is a father from Maribymong, also in Melbourne. He had checked his ticket but believed he’d only won a $16.05 division five prize.

The big winner revealed that he’d been using the same numbers for years. “I can’t remember why I picked them, but I’m glad I did!” he joked. Earlier this year  a male player from Melbourne won a $1.6 million Saturday Lotto prize.

Thanks to this $2.5 million Saturday Lotto win, he’s going to retire from his job, four or five years earlier than he’d planned.”Now I can do it earlier and spend more time with the family,” said the lucky player.
