The No.1 site to play the Lottery online since 2004, with over £5m in prizes won

With both the Mega Millions and Powerball draws having massive jackpots at present, there are many ways in which you can choose winning numbers. For Ronnie Martin from Long Pond in Pennsylvania, USA, he used numbers found in a fortune cookie to win a $1m Mega Millions prize in the July 24 draw.

The lucky player took a while to claim his prize but has been playing lottery games for many years just like the recent $50,000 Powerball winner from Maryland, USA, who was given the name ‘Mr Regular.’  The winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased from a gas station in nearby Hope in New Jersey, USA. Richard Rinadout from Florida, USA, also purchased a winning lottery ticket in a different US state, buying his $50,000 winning Powerball ticket while in Maryland, USA.

The numbers that he used for his three Mega Millions ticket came from a fortune cookie that he purchased at a local restaurant several years ago. Aaron Walshaw and Ceri Hall from Ossett in West Yorkshire, England used a lucky dip won in the previous draw to win £1m playing the UK Lotto draw. A great grandfather from Virginia, USA, used family birthdays from four generations to win him a $10,170 Mega Millions windfall.

Mr Martin has been continually using the numbers from that fortune cookie ever since and amazingly on July 24 those numbers matched the five main balls in the July 24 draw.  His ticket failed to match the Mega Ball otherwise he’d have won a share of the $543m Mega Millions jackpot that was won by a syndicate of Californian bankers in that draw. The numbers drawn were 01-02-04-19-29 and the Mega Ball 20. Ideal for those using birthdays and anniversaries and now it seems pretty handy for anyone using fortune cookies too.

When discovering that his Mega Millions ticket had won $1m, the Long Pond resident was stunned. In fact, he actually thought that the store clerk was just messing with him. The lucky Mega Millions winner already has firm plans on how he will be spending his winnings.

Firstly, he wants to pay off their house which is just what a family from Donegal in Ireland did after they won a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus Prize in August of this year.  Mr Martin also plans to pay off the rest of his bills and then saving the rest of their Mega Millions windfall.
