MARYLAND RETIREE NEVER MISSES A MEGA MILLIONS DRAWING, AND IT PAYS OFF!

A retired grocery store manager from Maryland has revealed how he never misses a drawing on either Mega Millions or Powerball, and it’s now paid off to the tune of $10,000.

The lucky winner took home a $10,000 Mega Millions prize in the October 23rd drawing, after buying tickets for every drawing, every week for years. The 78-year-old is a big fan of both Powerball and Mega Millions and said that he has never given up hope that the big money prizes may well come his way. A couple from Toronto saw their patience pay off when they won $32 million on the Lotto Max this year after spending years trying to bag a top prize.

Another Maryland lottery fan recently won $50,000 on the Powerball game, and the retiree, from Lanham in Maryland, said that he has always acknowledges that winning a jackpot would involve beating tough odds, but this month he finally did just that when he attended lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim his Mega Millions excitement. The winning ticket was purchased on the day of the drawing from Quick Stop Food Mart on Main Street in Laurel, and the winner watched in disbelief as his numbers came up in the drawing. A 30-year commitment to the Canadian Lotto 649 was worth it for an Ontario woman who won $1 million this January.

“I watched the billion-dollar drawing on Tuesday night,” he explained, referring to the Mega Millions drawing which was worth over $1.6 billion and was won by a player in South Carolina. “I had used quick pick for my tickets, but I’d studied them a little. When the balls were drawn I thought I recognised one or two.”

But even that night, the former store manager didn’t quite realise how lucky his Mega Millions ticket was, and the next morning he saw that his ticket had matched four out of five of the main numbers plus the Mega Ball. “It looked to me like a $10,000 win, but I wouldn’t believe until I took it to the store to make sure. Only then did I call my daughter.”

The Maryland man told lottery officials that he plans to use his Mega Millions prize to make the upcoming festive period extra special for his family. This time last year a household in Ontario, Canada were set to enjoy a very merry Christmas thanks to a big Lotto Max win.
