A ticket sold in Crawford County, Pennsylvania has won $1 million in the June 6th Mega Millions draw. It’s the latest in a series of big wins in the State.
The winning ticket managed to correctly match all five of the white balls drawn (12-29-37-49-72) but missed out on the jackpot as it failed to match the Mega Ball 9. It was purchased at Kwik Fill, 11144 Perry Highway, Meadville, and the store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
The $1 million prize will be subject to 25 percent federal withholding and is the fifth major prize-winning ticket sold by the Pennsylvania Lottery in recent weeks. The run of success includes a ticket that won $149 million in the May 20th Mega Millions draw, a $2 million Powerball win for the June 4th draw and two other tickets both worth $1 million in Powerball draws held in May.
Meanwhile, over a month has passed but still no one has come forward to claim a Mega Millions prize of close to $469,000. The winning ticket was purchased on May 9th for that day’s draw at San Leandro Express Liquors, located at 138 W. Juane Ave, San Leandro in California. It matched the numbers 39, 10, 59, 28 and 51 but missed out on the Mega number of 14. Matching the five main numbers earned a prize of $468,905.
California Lottery officials are urging the winner to sign the back of the ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place and visit their local lottery district office as soon as possible. The winner has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The draws take place twice per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The next Mega Millions draw will be held on Friday June 13th and you’ll be hoping the date isn’t an unlucky one. No one won the jackpot on June 10th, so it’s now up to an estimated $66 million (or a one-off cash payment alternative of $37 million).
