In Bristol, England, the city’s latest lottery millionaire has come forward after almost four months, just when EuroMillions officials were about ready to give up on them.

The lottery winner, who has so far not decided to go public with their win, won their £1 million EuroMillions prize in the UK Millionaire Raffle portion of the popular Europe-wide lottery game. This win had nothing to do with the numbers that the lottery player had chosen, and in fact was down to the raffle number that was printed at the bottom of their EuroMillions ticket when they purchased it.

On November 7th, that particular ticket in Bristol was discovered to be the one special ticket that had the correct raffle number and therefore won £1 million. Lottery officials said that they were beginning to doubt that the winner would ever come forward as, despite the fact that many winners of substantial prizes wait a while to claim them, four months is an awfully long time to wait before getting your hands on that money.

“It would have been awful if the ticket holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money”, said a spokesperson for Camelot, the company that runs the EuroMillions lottery in the UK. “We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”

The winner is entitled to remain anonymous after the EuroMillions win, and the lottery spokesperson said that unless they sign an agreement regarding full publicity, not further information can be released about their win, their plans for the money or the reason for them waiting so long to claim it.

The Bristol winner has come forward as another mystery lottery millionaire from East Sussex in England claimed a £1 million prize won in a very special UK Lotto raffle on Valentines’ Day. This winner, who has also decided to remain anonymous, purchased their ticket online but still managed to win one of the most coveted lottery prizes in the UK.
