A ticket sold in the UK has landed the £28.5 million EuroMillions jackpot in the draw held on Friday August 14. No information has been released as to whether the winner is a single ticket holder or a syndicate.

The winning numbers in the draw were: 04-07-39-44-45 and the Lucky Stars were 03 and 05. It’s the latest in a series of big wins in the EuroMillions draw for players from the UK and the fifth jackpot win this year.

We’ve previously reported how a ticket holder in the UK won a £93 million jackpot in the June 12 EuroMillions draw. The March 31 EuroMillions draw resulted in a £53 milllion win for Richard and Angela Maxwell.

While this big win has been claimed, a big winner from the July 31 EuroMillions draw has yet to come forward and claim a £1 million win and a trip to New York. We do know that the winning ticket was sold in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, England.

The lucky winner matched the Millionaire Maker code in the draw and has until Wednesday 27 January to come forward and claim their prize. The winning code in the July 31 EuroMillions draw was CFK351306. If the ticket remains unclaimed then the prize money plus all the interest generated will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.” They added that the trip to New York would “certainly be an amazing introduction to the millionaire lifestyle.”

It’s not uncommon for lottery winners to take some time before coming forward. A £1.8 million UK Lotto winner from Caerphilly in Wales took nearly two months to claim his winnings. Some players decide to take the time to get advice from financial experts before contacting the lottery. Ronald Meier from California did that and took three months before claiming the $2.6 million Powerball he won last October. Back in England a player from Bristol also won a £1 million EuroMillions prize in November 2014 and took four months before coming forward.
