The National Lottery are searching for the holder of a EuroMillions ticket sold in Southampton, England, for the July 31 EuroMillions draw. The ticket holder has yet to come forward and claim their £1 million prize and a trip to New York.

The £1 million win came in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker part of the draw and National Lottery officials have been trying to jog the memories of players from the Hampshire city. The lucky ticket holder has until January 27, 2016 to claim their prize or the winnings plus the amount of interest generated by that date will go to National Lottery good causes.

The July 31 EuroMillions draw has already had ten winners claim their £1 million and that trip to the Big Apple. Last week we told you how the National Lottery were searching for a lottery ticket sold in Gloucestershire that also won the same prize in that draw.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.

“We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club. Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa.”

It’s not uncommon for players to take a while before coming forward to claim their winnings. Sheila Cleasby from Canada took three months to claim the $1 million Lotto 6/49 prize won in May 2015.In May we told you about ‘Bubba’s Crew’ from Connecticut, USA, who took two weeks before checking their Powerball ticket and finding out they’d won $1 million.

Hopefully this lucky winner won’t end up like the player from Liverpool, England, who missed out on a £1 million EuroMillions prize won last November. In the States a $1 million Powerball winning ticket from September 2014 went unclaimed by its holder in Los Angeles.
