BRITISH £35 MILLION EUROMILLIONS WINNER TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS

The EuroMillions jackpot on Friday, September 25th saw one ticket holder from the UK scoop the entire £35 million jackpot, and now that sum has been claimed by the lucky winner.

However, despite our curiosity to find out who exactly won this life-changing amount of money, the winner has chosen to remain anonymous, just like last year’s £73 million EuroMillions winner, and they have taken their £35 million to spend as they wish. National Lottery operator Camelot this week confirmed that the winner has come forward and has their ticket validated, and that the jackpot prize has been paid out.

We will not be hearing any more information about the lucky EuroMillions winner’s identity, so we will just have to keep guessing about what they plan to do with their winnings. To add to the lucky streak in the United Kingdom, exactly one week after the mystery winner’s scoop, another EuroMillions jackpot was won right here in the UK, this time worth a slightly lower sum of £11 million.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said “The National Lottery is creating more millionaires than ever but to have two EuroMillions jackpots won here in as many weeks is truly unbelievable.” The September winner will now, according to lottery officials, be richer than famous British television personalities such as Michael McIntyre, who is worth £21 million, and Jeremy Clarkson, who is said to have an estimated wealth of £30 million.

This week National Lottery officials are attempting a Guinness world record attempt as they will gather lottery millionaires from past and present in London to celebrate the creation of 4,000 millionaires. They are hoping to break the record for the largest gathering of lottery millionaires, and the longest champagne cork popping relay.

The mystery winner will certainly have a lot to think about as they decide how they’ll spend their winnings, although they will not quite find themselves on the Sunday Times Rich List, unlike Colin and Chris Weir from Lars, North Ayrshire in Scotland, who are still the largest ever EuroMillions winners since they won £161 million in July 2011.
