A EuroMillions player from Grimsby, England, has won a huge £1 million prize, but they might not even know about it!

The lucky lottery player won their £1 million prize on Friday, March 17th on the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker prize draw, but the winnings have not yet been claimed. Camelot, the umbrella company which owns the EuroMillions in the UK, is urging all EuroMillions player in the Grimsby area to check and double check their tickets in case they are the lucky winner! We’ve often told you about lucky St Patrick’s Day lottery winners.

On March 14th, the EuroMillions jackpot was won in Portugal, and the ticket for March 17th, St Patrick’s Day, had a winning code on it – TMTH 55721 – and was one of two Millionaire Makers which were won on that Friday evening. The lucky winner has until September 13th, 2017, to claim their prize, but lottery officials are hoping that it doesn’t take quite that long. A winning EuroMillions ticket sold in Ireland for the draw on March 21st has already been claimed!

Andy Carter, a winner’s advisor from the National Lottery, said in a statement that they were desperate to find the lucky EuroMillions winner. “This amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life,” he said. “We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club. Hopefully the winner won’t miss out, like a EuroMillions winner from Liverpool did with their Millionaire Maker prize.

If nobody comes forward to claim the prize before September 13th, then the winnings, along with any interest that it has generated, will be donated to the National Lottery good causes fund. “Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags, and down the back of the sofa,” said Mr Carter, adding that lottery officials were crossing their fingers that the newest millionaire would soon turn up.The most famous Grimsby winner was Sue Mullen, who won £4.8 million on the EuroMillions in 2011, and has been helping out the local community ever since.
