A lucky man from Wexford in Ireland sees a €269,554 EuroMillions win in the May 19 draw as the start of a great adventure and all he needs now is to see his favorite team win the All-Ireland Hurling final in September.
The EuroMillions winner has asked to remain anonymous, that’s just like the couple from Kerry in Ireland who won €2,266,323 playing the Irish Lotto.
His Quick Pick ticket was purchased from the Gwalia Store in Gorey and matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star. “I cannot describe the relief that this win brings to my family,” said the lucky EuroMillions winner. “This win is going to be a great adventure as we change our lives for the better,” he added.
Now he wants to use some of his EuroMillions win to see his beloved Wexford team beat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Hurling final in Croke Park in September. “I’ll be following the team over the summer so I’ll have to treat myself to some posh seats in Croke Park when we get there.” Englishman John Taylor headed to Australia to see the Ashes after winning £137,945.40 in a EuroMillions draw.
The EuroMillions windfall was only discovered the Sunday after the draw, when a relative who lives abroad heard that there had been a big winner in the area. The winner added: “Good news certainly travels fast to every corner of the world”. His mother hadn’t bought a ticket for the May 19 EuroMilllions draw so had no interest in the news. This lucky winner was certainly interested though! “As soon as I heard, I ran out to my car and there it was sitting on my dashboard, the winning ticket worth almost a quarter of a million euro.”
Every few hours since discovering the EuroMillions win, the family have been checking the ticket to see if it really had won €269,554. The winners of a $27.3m New Zealand Powerball jackpot kept checking their ticket after discovering their windfall.
He now plans to move out of the family home and buy a place of his own which will be completely mortgage free. A couple from Meath in Ireland were able to put down a deposit on their dream house after a €45,742 Irish Lotto win. In England, Michelle and Barrie Fender bought their council home after they won £1m playing UK Lotto.
The next EuroMillions draw is on Friday 2 June with a £131m jackpot. Don’t miss the opportunity to become next big winner and purchase your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
