€5.8 Irish Lotto Jackpot Winner Stills Plans to Cook the Family Christmas Dinner

Lottery24 -Player from Limerick claimed Irish Lotto jackpotThe winner of the €5.8 Irish Lotto jackpot won in the November 25 draw has finally come forward to claim their prize. But despite his big win, the Limerick resident still intends cooking his own Christmas dinner just as a €11.3m Irish Lotto jackpot winner did last year.

The lucky Irish Lotto winner is the latest big winner from Co. Limerick after Seamus Cawley from Rathkeale in Co Limerick, Ireland was part of a ten-strong syndicate that landed a €3.88m Irish Lotto jackpot.

The €5.8 Irish Lotto jackpot winner has asked to remain anonymous, just like the recent $25m Australian Powerball winner from Victoria. Despite becoming a lottery millionaire, he says that he will continue to work for the foreseeable future, just as the factory worker from Co. Cork in Ireland said after his €257,084 EuroMillions win. He does plan to bring his retirement forward a few years thanks to his Irish Lotto windfall.

However, he is planning to go on a post-Christmas trip to Barbados and wants to buy a property in the sun and he’ll use some of his Irish Lotto win to pay off his mortgage. Before that though, the Irish Lotto winner is planning to have a great Christmas and he’s intent on cooking the Christmas dinner despite his new-found wealth. Chef Anthony Vitolo from New York, USA, said his cooking days were over after winning $10m playing the $350,000,000 Cash Spectacular scratch card.

The Irish Lotto winner checked his winning ticket a day after the draw after hearing the jackpot winner had purchased their ticket locally. “I went out and checked the ticket using the Lottery App and low and behold it was me.”

He describes the feeling of winning the Irish Lotto as “still indescribable” and compared it to “an out-of-body experience.” Christina Ford from Georgia, USA, felt like she was in a dream when winning a half-share of a $15m Mega Millions jackpot.

The Irish Lotto winner added that his family will now be “getting slightly more extravagant Christmas presents than originally planned.”

His winning Irish Lotto ticket was purchased from the GPO on Cecil Street in Limerick city and was the 11th Irish Lotto jackpot win of 2017. In total, the Irish Lotto winner will receive €5,868,533. The winning numbers in the November 25 Irish Lotto draw were 04-16-18-24-32-35 and the Bonus Ball 46.
