SUNSHINE COAST RETIREE WINS $1 MILLION ON AUSTRALIAN GOLD LOTTO

A retiree from the Sunshine Coast in Australia has won $1 million on the Gold Lotto and plans to set sail on a brand-new boat. The lottery winner, who chose to remain anonymous when he claimed his $1 million prize, is from Mooloolaba, and he was the only first division winner in Wednesday night’s Gold Lotto drawing. His ticket also won him a division four prize, worth $25.35, and so his total prize fund was wroth $1,000,025.35.The Gold Lotto winner said that he looked up the lottery results online and was eagerly awaiting a call from Lottery officials which would tell him he was a winner. “I’ve been up pretty early, and I looked at it online,” the Sunshine Coast man told lottery officials. “I thought, ‘that can’t be right’, so I left it for a bit.” A Cairns woman who won over $1.3 million on the Gold Lotto said her reaction was one of shock and delight. The lottery winner said that he kept going back to look at the computer, and by the fourth time he was pretty sure that he really was a millionaire. “I said, ‘gee, I’d better wake my wife up.’” A bin man from England had to wake his wife up early after winning £300,000 on a scratch card.“I told my wife we’d won two prizes – one is $25, and she had to guess the other one. She said ‘$1,000? $2,000?’ It was lovely.” The winning couple have won lottery prizes before, but this one is by far the best. “We won a Gold Lotto prize of $900 about six years ago and we were over the moon then,” the winner explained. “Imagine how excited we are by $1 million!” A woman from Queensland once won two Gold Lotto prizes in the same week as she became a millionaire.A Gold Coast lottery winner was cheekily told by his boss to leave and never come back after winning $4 million on the Tatts Lotto, and this Gold Lotto winner said that he and his wife are already planning their retirement, and their latest windfall will upgrade those plans. “We’re going to buy a boat and have a holiday,” he said. “It’s perfect. It’s the icing on the cake.” A Lotto Max winner from Ontario in Canada also discussed buying a boat after winning a $261,854 prize, but we think she was joking!Update your bucket list and play your favourite lotteries online at Lottery24.com.
