Weekend sees Wedding Anniversary and $1m Saturday Lotto Win

A couple from Clayton in Victoria, Australia was already having a celebratory weekend. It was their wedding anniversary but on November 6 it got even better. They were shocked to discover a $1 million Saturday Lotto win. It was their marriage helped them get the win.

The couple were one of six division one winning entries and in all, won $1,015,392.69. They have asked to remain anonymous, but a happy mother has spoken about their Saturday Lotto win. When receiving a call from the Lotto, she said: “Is it a joke? Please tell me it’s real!”

The day after the draw she’d checked her lottery account and was shocked to discover the $1 million win. Initially, she thought a joke was being played on her as did her husband. Their parents didn’t believe themeither, but it was all true.

Gobsmacked

“We were all so gobsmacked! It’s such an awesome surprise. It changes everything!” said the delighted but shocked winner. “This is just incredible. We’re millionaires!” she added.

The numbers drawn out on November 6 were: 11-15-28-30-33-39 and the two Supplementary balls 19 and 35. The wife said their numbers are very special to the couple. “We picked these numbers about a decade ago when we got married,” revealed the Saturday Lotto winner. With their anniversary being celebrated, “it feels like it was meant to be” she added.

Holidays and helping others

Now they are looking forward to spending their Saturday Lotto winnings. The win will help them “so much.” The couple are looking forward to paying off their mortgage and get “a new-ish car.” Once that has been purchased, they can take their family on holiday. That’s something they are looking forward to after a tough time in lockdown. “Now we can go anywhere we like,” said the excited winner.

They also want to use their Saturday Lotto winnings to help others. That will include giving some of their windfall to their siblings and to their parents. “They’ve all supported us so much over the years, so we can’t wait to spoil them a little.”
