Half-million Mega Millions ticket still unclaimed one month later

A winning Mega Millions ticket worth almost half a million dollars was sold in the San Francisco Bay area of California over a month ago, but the winner is still yet to come forward, according to lottery officials.

The California Lottery confirmed that they are still trying to track down the person who bought the winning ticket from San Leandro Express Liquors for the Mega Millions draw on May 9th. The winner matched the numbers 39, 10, 59, 28 and 51, missing out on only the Mega number of 14 as it won $468,905.

While many winners may take their time in claiming lottery prizes in order to ensure their financial and legal affairs are in order, lottery officials in California are urging the winner to visit their local lottery district as soon as possible. From the date of draw the winner only has 180 days within which to claim the prize, before it goes back into the lottery pool.

And while the California Lottery is hunting for their winner, the Pennsylvania Lottery has come up trumps again as yet another resident has become a lottery millionaire. Sold for the draw on Friday, June 6th, the winning ticket in question matched all of the main numbers 12, 29, 37, 49 and 72 and is worth $1 million to whoever is lucky enough to hold it within their fingers.

The ticket, which is yet to be claimed, was sold at a Kwik Fill store on Perry Highway in Meadville, and the store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.

This was the fifth major prize-winning ticket sold in Pennsylvania in the last few weeks, and the most recent Mega Millions jackpot winner was found in Pennsylvania on May 20th as they won $149 million. Mega Millions and Powerball prizes between $1 million and $149 million have been won around the state in the last month, making Pennsylvania one of the luckiest states around!

The Mega Millions lottery is worth $66 million for its drawing tonight, Friday 13th June. So will Friday 13th be lucky or unlucky for you? Chances are it will be lucky for some! Don’t forget to purchase your Mega Millions tickets online at Lottery24.com.
