A mystery lottery player from Bristol has scooped a huge £1 million lottery prize, and all without ever touching his ticket.

The lucky man, who has chosen not to reveal his identity and is only known as Mr P, won his fortune thanks to the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw. Becoming the guaranteed Millionaire Raffle winner in the draw on Friday, June 20th, Mr P will have been notified of his win electronically via the site through which he played.

Mr P has now collected his winnings from lottery officials, who say that they are seeing a significant increase in the number of lottery players online. “With many people leading busy lives playing online is becoming increasingly popular,” a National Lottery spokesperson said as they announced Mr P’s win.

Online winners are offered the choice of staying anonymous, releasing their name and details or taking the route that Mr P has done and releasing some details through partial publicity. The EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle guarantees at least one millionaire in the UK twice a week, after every draw.

As Bristol revel in their latest win, the EuroMillions lottery was drawn again this weekend, and its jackpot on Friday, July 4th was worth £33 million. Unfortunately, however, there were no lucky jackpot winners in the draw this weekend and the top prize total will roll over for its next draw.

The lucky numbers this week were 4, 18, 39, 43 and 47 while the two Lucky Stars were 2 and 6. Although nobody may have matched all of the numbers at once, there were plenty of consolation prize winners, and four of those matched all five of the main numbers and just one out of the two Lucky Stars to bag themselves a second tier prize worth £278,795.

Five tickets won the third tier prize of £74,345 by matching just the first five main numbers, while more than two million other tickets won smaller prize ranging from a few pounds to a few thousand pounds. The EuroMillions jackpot will now be worth an estimated £38 million for its next draw on Tuesday, July 8th.
