Chosen Few Race to Success With €3.8m Irish Lotto Jackpot

Lottery24 – Syndicate from Co Cork are celebrating their €3.8m Irish Lotto jackpotWhat would you do if you became a lottery millionaire? Well, Eugene O’Sullivan from Co Cork in Ireland wants to become a successful racehorse owner after being part of a €3.8m Irish Lotto winning syndicate.

The 36-year-old was one of ten members in the syndicate that all work at Kerry Foods’ Cheestrings division in Charleville, Co Cork. Their winning Irish Lotto ticket was purchased from O’Gradys Foodmarket in Co Limerick on October 24.

Sometimes players take a while to come forward and tell everyone about their great win. That’s just what this syndicate did as they checked everything with the National Lottery. “We didn’t want to get hopes up really,” Mr O’Sullivan explained.

Eugene will receive €380,000 as his share of the winnings and already has several ideas on what he’s going to be doing with his Irish Lotto windfall. “I’m big into the hurling and the horse racing so I’d be thinking of buying a racehorse with the cash.” When he does get that horse he wants to call it The Chosen Few after the name of the lucky syndicate. £148m EuroMillions winner Adrian Bayford spent over £2m on horses and horse-related items for his girlfriend earlier this year.

It’s another big Irish Lotto win in Ireland after a couple recently claimed a €5.3m lottery jackpot. Another member of the syndicate is Frank Finn from Limerick. The 42-year-old wants to use his lottery winnings to buy a new set of wardrobes. He admitted that the big win hadn’t really sunk in until they saw the winning cheque. But after seeing that he said, “It finally feels real, it’s fantastic.”

Finn says after getting the fitted wardrobes he wants to get his mortgage paid off, just like the Canadian couple who recently won a $1m Lotto Max prize. The lucky winner also plans on paying for his children to go to college. That’s just what American James Moren did after winning $1m playing Powerball.

Between them the syndicate members have 10 children and one grandchild. They’ve been playing the Lotto for more than 12 years but their previous biggest win had only been €1,200.
