Lottery24 – Four Irish National Lottery players split €615KThe last two days at National Lottery headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, have been like the busy Piccadilly Circus in London with the amount of people that have been streaming through the doors to claim their prizes.
Four different players won €615,000 between them in prize money after each scoring big on Irish National Lottery scratch card and EuroMillions plus games, and all claimed their prizes this week at the Dublin headquarters where a South Dublin winner recently claimed a €7.3 million Irish Lotto jackpot. The biggest winner of all was a syndicate of players from Wexford, who scored the top €500,000 prize on the EuroMillions Plus draw last Friday night.
They were joined by three Irish National Lottery scratch card winners, one each from Laois, Clare and Dublin, winning €50,000, €40,000 and €25,000 respectively.
One of the National Lottery winners, Bridget Phelan from Co. Laois (the same area where a family won a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize at Christmas ), won her €50,000 on an All Cash Platinum scratch card which she bought from the XL store in Rathdowney, and she told lottery officials that she has so many plans for her winnings that she can’t decide where to start.
Just like a recent Irish National Lottery winner from Northumberland, Ms Phelan scored her prize on an instant reveal card, so she had ideas about how to spend the money immediately. “I need to get a new kitchen in the house and I definitely need to get a newer car than the one I have now,” she said, but she wasn’t done there. “I turn 60 in a couple of weeks so we will have a big celebration for all of my family and friends.” She is also planning to take her sister and best friend both away for the weekend, and treat them to a break away from normal life.
The Wexford syndicate, who all chose to remain anonymous after scooping their €500,000 EuroMillions prize, purchased their ticket at The Kiosk, Abbey Square in Enniscorthy just one day before the draw took place. One of the winners told lottery officials that they are all still coming to terms with their huge win, so they haven’t quite made a plan for the winnings, just like a recent winner from Cork who had no idea how to spend her €500,000 EuroMillions prize after finding the winning ticket in her pantry.
We don’t know how many winners will split the €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize, but the winner did say that they are thinking of taking a holiday together. “We have already discussed a nice long holiday to Bondi Beach in Australia in the coming months, so that’s something to look forward to,” they added.
