A €381,863 EuroMillions win from the May 6 draw has finally been claimed by a syndicate from Co. Cork in Ireland just hours before the deadline.

The winning EuroMillions syndicate leader said they heard of an unclaimed EuroMillions ticket two weeks before they claimed their big win. With the clock ticking down to the ticket expiring, a massive media campaign had been carried out to find out just who had the €381,863 winning EuroMillions ticket.

The syndicate leader commented, “It has been a very busy couple of days for all of us in the syndicate and it is a lot to take in.” He added that they had seen the reports in the media concerning the unclaimed ticket “but I never thought that it would be our ticket.”

It’s the latest big lottery win in Ireland. Recently a syndicate of bus drivers from Dublin won a €24 million EuroMillions jackpot. A player in Dublin forgot her lottery purchase and then later discovered her €117,023 Irish Lotto win.

Their winning EuroMillions ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from the Tesco in the Market Green Shopping Centre in Midleton, Co. Cork. It matched the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars in the May 6 draw.

Some of the other members had been asking the syndicate leader check all of their tickets and it was at that same Tesco store that the big EuroMillions win discovery was made. An English syndicate took a month before claiming their £1m UK Lotto windfall.

The overjoyed but very relieved syndicate leader actually thought they had two days left to claim their EuroMillions win, but then he was told the deadline was just hours away. He was straight on the phone to claim their EuroMillions prize and thanked the media for their awareness campaign. He joked, “I don’t think I would be allowed to run the syndicate again if I missed out on the deadline.”

Amanda Lewis from England nearly missed out on a £1m EuroMillions win recently.A family in Ireland nearly lost a €500,000 EuroMillions win when not fully checking their ticket.
