SHOCK IN THE PARK FOR $1M LOTTO 6/49 SYNDICATE

Five mothers from Ajax in Ontario Canada used to joke that one day they would be big lottery winners. Now that joke has become a reality after they won $1 million in the September 9 Lotto 6/49 draw but it all came as a bit of a shock when finding out about their win.The lucky syndicate consists of group leader Sherry Murphy, Christina Tessier, Jennifer Arbuckle, Marlene Gardner and Virginia Peroff. They all live in the same neighbourhood and have been playing the Lotto 6/49 draw for a number of years. Enzo Di Gneo from Montreal in Quebec, Canada used the same numbers for 23 years before he won $12,715,949 playing Lotto 6/49.It was Murphy who first found out news of their great win. She headed a store to buy their batch of tickets for the next Lotto 6/49 draw and hadn’t checked to see if their previous purchase had won anything. Now was the time to find out, "When the ticket checker showed ‘$1 Million,’ my first thought was that something was wrong!”Sherry wasn’t the only one who didn’t quite believe that they had won $1m. As she began to spread the amazing news it was hard to convince the other syndicate members. Marlene Gardner met the syndicate leader at their neighbourhood park and thought it strange that she was specifically waiting for her. “When she told me the news I screamed so loudly that all the kids and other parents stopped what they were doing. Then I saw the other group members burst into laughter on the other side of the park."It’s the latest big win in Ontario after Richard Walker scooped a $256,243.80 Lotto 6/49 prize. Also celebrating was Leslie Simpson, from Beaverton in Durham County, Ontario, who won $5 million in a Lotto 6/49 draw. However, celebrating the most in Ontario must have been Mike and Tricia Montminy from Tilbury in Ontario, who won a $26m Lotto Max jackpot. The Lotto 6/49 winners now plan to help out their children and grandchildren. Also planned are taking some holidays. That’s just what Leslie Ritchie from Lansdowne in Ontario did as she headed off to the Bahamas after her $54,390.40 Lotto 6/49 win.“Winning the lottery is unbelievable. Most of us run after kids and change diapers all day!” said Murphy. Their winning Lotto 6/49 ticket was purchased at Mac's on Church Street in Ajax. You too could become a big winner!
