There are going to be some happy children in the Keilor East area of Victoria in Australia, because their grandmother has just won $25 million in the September 21 Australian Powerball draw, one of two players to hit the jackpot.

The lucky player has asked to remain anonymous, that’s just like the $1.3 million Australian Lotto winners from Western Australia. Her winning ticket was purchased from Millera Mall Lotto in Keilor East and successfully matched 02-10-17-23-25-26 and the Powerball 05 to become one of two players to share the $50 million Australian Powerball jackpot, the other lucky ticket was sold in New South Wales and has yet to come forward.

When a Tatts Lottery official called the lucky winner to tell her the amazing news, she asked if the unsuspecting Australian Powerball winner was sitting down to which she replied, “I don’t need to sit down, I’m here and I’m ready,” the winner said.

The $25 million Australian Powerball winner says she has been playing the game for many, many years but never won anything so she’s been waiting for a long time for such a fantastic phone call to be received.

Judy Finchum from Colorado had been playing the same numbers for years before she won a $133.2m Powerball jackpot earlier this month.

Milleara Mall Lotto owner Jovan Petrovski said she was thrilled to have sold the winning Australian Powerball ticket. “We are so excited to wake up to the news we had sold such a huge division-one winning entry,” Mr Petrovski said

The news that they had sold a $25 million Australian Powerball winning ticket had le to celebrations all morning in the store. All their customers have been told the fantastic news, probably all going away dreaming next time it’ll be them that are the big winners. “Congratulations to our winner. We wish them all the best with their life-changing prize,” added the excited store owner.

It’s the latest big win in the state of Victoria after two syndicates won more than $1.4m in a Tatts Lotto draw. Also celebrating was John Howard who scooped $1.4m in a Keno draw.

The Australian Powerball jackpot winner wants to buy a new home with some of her winnings. Also planned is treating her grandchildren who are going to be spoilt rotten over the coming weeks. In England, Jane Wyatt couldn’t wait to buy presents for her children after winning a £1m UK Lotto prize.
