The first weekend of the year is one that will never be forgotten, particularly in the USA… Friday saw the $450m Mega Millions jackpot won by a ticket sold in Florida. Just 24 hours later a New Hampshire store sold the winning $559.7m Powerball ticket.
Friday’s EuroMillions top prize was £25.687m, a week after an Irish family syndicate won a €38.9m EuroMillions jackpot, but the draw ended in a rollover. Players were unable to match 02-05-20-38-41 and the two Lucky Stars 04 and 08. Tuesday’s draw sees the top prize climb to £32m.
The EuroJackpot draw had a €47m jackpot but will be €54m on the 12th after a rollover. The numbers drawn were 02-07-38-40-45 and the two EuroNumbers 07 and 10. There were four second-tier winners of €452,853.80.
To the big winners now and the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday was $450m and it went to a ticket sold in Florida. The lucky numbers were 28-30-39-59-70 and the Mega Ball 10. There were also eight second-tier winners who matched the five main balls to become lottery millionaires. Texas and Oklahoma both sold two, with the others being sold in California, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Virginia. On Tuesday, the jackpot returns to $40m.
24 hours later the Powerball jackpot of $559.7m was won by a ticket sold in New Hampshire. It matched 12-29-30-33-61 and the Powerball 26. There were five second-tier winners of $1m with those sold in New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and Connecticut. Recently a couple in Connecticut got engaged after they won $50,000 playing Powerball Tuesday’s Powerball draw has a $40m top prize.
Saturday also saw the El Niño draw took place in Spain. The winning number was 05685 and was sold in Bilbao with players winning between €2m and €200,000 for each series.
No such luck in the UK Lotto draw, where the jackpot was £8.337m. The elusive numbers were 18-28-31-32-44-51 and the Bonus Ball 50. The jackpot rises to £9.8m on Wednesday.
The SuperEnalotto jackpot continues to elude its players. On Saturday the winning numbers were 15-18-24-33-48-64 and the Jolly 58 but no tickets could win the €81.6m top prize. Tuesday will see players trying to win €82.6m.
There were some other big winners in Europe. Saturday’s Lotto 6 aus 49 draw had a €10m top prize but no tickets were able to match 05-14-32-37-46-47 to win that jackpot. There were two runner-up winners of €1,351,671. On Wednesday the top prize rises to €11m.
The Super 6 draw had six winners each land €100,000 after their tickets matched 0-4-6-7-7-1. More success followed in Sunday’s Joker draw with two tickets winning €195,186.90 after their tickets matched 5-2-4-6-7-6. There was also a second-tier win of €110,513.05 in Sunday’s La Primitiva draw.
Monday saw a Bonoloto jackpot of €1,154,854.92 won with a single ticket matching 02-14-16-25-46-49.
