A couple from Dawson Creek in British Columbia, Canada certainly had a name that is appropriate for a big lottery winner. Kim and Susan Gamble are celebrating after winning a million dollars prize in the April 28 Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

The lucky couple purchased their winning Lotto 6/49 ticket from a 7-Eleven in Dawson Creek. After the draw had taken place, an announcement had been made saying that there had been a big winning ticket sold in the area.

Kim recalled that as soon as they heard the news, he got on her Lotto App to see if their Lotto 6/49 ticket had been the one lucky enough to win the million-dollar prize. “As soon as I scanned it, I instantly froze up and was speechless,” said the lucky winner about the moment she discovered their big win.

His wife, Susan, wasn’t quite sure what was going on. “I didn’t know what Kim was looking at,” she commented. “So, I popped my head over to see the app and instantly froze up too. It was a speechless moment frozen in time. It’s hard to explain the shock, but we just couldn’t believe our eyes.”

The Gambles aren’t the only lottery winners that have had rather appropriate names. In England, a £2,012,794 UK Lotto prize was won by Rob Rich from Southampton. Also, in England, a Chester syndicate called ‘Lucky 15’ lived up to its name with a £72,950 UK Lotto win.

The Lotto 6/49 winners already have firm plans on how to spend their windfall. Some of their winnings will be spent on renovating their house. That’s just what Joan Patterson from Toronto, Canada, did after she won a $60m Lotto Max jackpot.

Lottery winners often can’t wait to go off on holiday after their big win. This couple are no exception to that unwritten rule and are planning a trip to Hawaii. Another Canadian winner, Leslie Simpson, planned to go on her first overseas holiday after winning $5m playing the Lotto 6/49 draw. However, when Kevin Piper from Durham, England won a £1m EuroMillions prize, part of his win was a Hawaiian Adventure, but he turned that prize down.

It’s the latest big win in British Columbia. Two years ago, Robert Goertze was lucky enough to win a massive $21.9m Lotto 6/49 jackpot.More recent winners were Brian and Carolyn Moore who celebrated a $500,000 Lotto 649 Extra prize.
