IRISH MOTHER AND DAUGHTER WIN €30,000 SCRATCH CARD PRIZE JUST BEFORE GOING ON HOLIDAY
Teresa and Dee Kiely were looking forward to going on holiday to Malaga in Spain. Their holiday became even more special when they won €30,000 on a National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card purchased on the way to Dublin Airport.
The lucky mother and daughter come from Athlone Town in Co Westmeath and bought their winning National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card from the Spar store on Collins Avenue, Dublin 9. It’s the latest big win in Ireland after a family from Limerick won a €111,271 Irish Lotto prize last month. Also celebrating was Marion Gorham from Dundalk after the mother-of-ten won €61,933 playing the Irish Lotto draw.
When the couple returned from their very special five-day holiday, they had another trip lined up. This time they collected their National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card prize from Lotto HQ in Dublin.
A delighted Teresa said of the National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card win, “It’s just incredible. We were obviously very excited about going on a well-deserved break and we said we’d have a little bit of fun with a scratch card before we left.”
The purchase of the National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card has certainly provided them with more than a little bit of fun. When they discovered their big win the mother and daughter couldn’t believe their luck at first. When a woman from Co Wicklow in Ireland won a €500,000 Irish Lotto Plus 1 prize, she was as “cool as a cucumber” when discovering her big win.
They waited until arriving in Spain to contact the National Lottery to get their National Lottery All Cash Tripler scratch card win confirmed and described that moment as “absolutely brilliant,” it’s certainly a good way to start a holiday. For Donna Smith from England, it was the exact opposite as she found out she’d won £1m playing EuroMillions when returning from a holiday in Corfu. Not so for Annette and Andrew Dawson as the English couple were on holiday in Bulgaria when finding out about their £1m EuroMillions windfall. Canadian Wayne Martin travelled from his homeland to London, England to tell his wife about their $7m Lotto 6/49 win.
Sometimes people wish their holiday would last ever but Teresa said: “For the first time ever, we actually didn’t mind coming home, knowing that we’d be collecting such a large prize as soon as we landed.”
