EuroMillions Syndicate of Scottish Engineers finally takes home a big win
A group of Scottish engineers all like to regularly take part in a EuroMillions syndicate at work. Now it has finally paid off as the 14 members are set to split £99,307. They won in the March 22 draw after 15 years of playing together.
The syndicate is comprised of staff who work at Ross-shire Engineering in Muir of Ord in Scotland. Each of the syndicate members will receive £7,000 after their success in the March 22 EuroMillions draw.
They were nearly Millionaires
Their lucky ticket managed to match the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars. The numbers that led to their EuroMillions windfall were 04-17-26-30-43 and the two Lucky Stars 06 and 11. If they had matched both the Lucky Stars, the EuroMillions syndicate would have won the £24.5m jackpot.
Holidays and a New Motorbike for this EuroMillions syndicate
Now they are deciding how to spend their winnings. Some are looking forward to going on exotic holidays, while one is planning to use their winnings to buy a new motorbike. The first thing they did after learning of their EuroMillions win was to head to their local pub The Ord Arms for a massive celebration.
Eileen Logan works in the Ross-shire Engineering office but has another important duty. It’s Eileen who goes to their local Co-op every Thursday. There she checks the results and buys new tickets. She explained how she discovered their EuroMillions win.
Massive shock for the syndicate head
She explained how she discovered their EuroMillions win. “My most recent visit was really unexpected, especially when the shop assistant handed me back our winning ticket saying it was too big to pay out!”
Eileen took the ticket home and checked the EuroMillions results on her computer. “I must’ve sat at the screen staring at it for ages before it sunk in. I then called Camelot who confirmed we had a winning ticket; I was just delighted!”
