It’s all thanks to a change in their purchasing routine.[caption id="attachment_13765" align=aligncenter width=810]belfast euromillions win body The Tinnelly Group syndicate celebrate their win[/caption]The Tinnelly Group lottery syndicate matched the five main numbers and one of the lucky stars. Each member of the lucky syndicate will receive more than £14,000. Usually, Michelle O’Haire will buy the syndicate’s EuroMillions ticket. However, she was away at a wedding so couldn’t purchase them.

Ticket went Unchecked for a Week

Instead, Gareth Tinnelly acquired their tickets but he didn’t check the results right away. The ticket would remain laying on his desk for a week. It was the following Friday when Michelle returned and finally checked the results. She scanned their tickets on a phone app and was shocked when seeing it had won a quarter of a million pounds. Then she asked a few friends and family to “check that I wasn’t seeing things.” Then came the job of telling the other syndicate members.

What’s in the Envelope?

After a sleepless weekend, the syndicate leaders told the other members that they’d forgotten to buy the lottery tickets but had placed a bet on the Grand National Horse Race instead. Then they gave each member an envelope and whoever had the name of the winning horse would receive £500. However, inside the envelopes was a message saying they’d each won £14,000.

Off to the Pub

Soon after they were all celebrating, and it got better as their boss said they could all go to the pub for the day. Now the syndicate winners are planning holidays including trips to Thailand, New York and a 25th wedding anniversary cruise. It’s the latest Belfast EuroMillions win in 2019. At the start of 2019, Frances and Patrick Connolly from Northern Ireland took £115 million home.
