EUROMILLIONS CHANGES WILL CREATE EVEN MORE MILLIONAIRES

Last year saw major changes made to the way the UK Lotto game was played. Now the EuroMillions game is being re-energized and “taken to the next level” with changes set to double the number of UK millionaires created by the popular lottery. One of the biggest changes is that the number of Lucky Stars in each EuroMillions draw will be increased from 11 to 12. The main numbers will still be chosen from a 1-50 range. The introduction of the additional Lucky Star number will make the chance of winning the EuroMillions jackpot a little bit more difficult. At present the odds of a jackpot win are one in 117 million and this will increase to one in 140 million. The overall odds of winning any prize in the draw stay at one in 13.Last year there were big changes made to the Powerball draw and that led to higher jackpots. Earlier this year three tickets including one purchased by John and Lisa Robinson from Tennessee, USA, shared a $1.6bn Powerball jackpot. It's hoped that these EuroMillions changes will now result in higher jackpots, following in the footsteps of Chris and Colin Weir who won a £161m EuroMillions jackpot. The minimum jackpot now rises to £14m and organisers Camelot hope that there will be more than twice as many jackpots of more than £50m a year. Recently a ticket sold in Spain won a £67m EuroMillions jackpot. Also in the pipeline are bigger promotional draws offering jackpots of around £100m and new “must-be-won” European Millionaire Maker events. The first of these is expected to take place at the end of October and create 25 millionaires.Local UK “enhancements” will include at least two guaranteed UK millionaires in each draw via the UK Millionaire Maker. This means there will be 208 tickets each year guaranteed to make their owners millionaires. Just recently Amanda Lewis from Staffordshire, England, nearly missed out on her £1m EuroMillions win.The changes will be introduced from the September 27th EuroMillions draw.
