More Classic Cars Bought By $2.05bn Powerball Winner
When a big lottery win lands on your doorstep, you find yourself suddenly able to make the purchase of your dreams. That’s certainly been so last November’s $2.04 billion Powerball winner Edwin Castro.
The Californian has been making some massive purchases since he won his Powerball jackpot. His most recent acquisitions have seen him add to the already impressive luxury car collection that he possesses.
Two vintage Porsches have been bought by the 31-year-old. The Powerball winner can do this and still have no fear of his amazing windfall running dry.
Porsche galore
One of his new purchases is a British racing green Porsche 356 which was first released in the 1970s. The following decade saw the arrival of the black Porsche 911 and both are now in Mr Castro’s collection.
He’d already made some impressive purchases. These have included a white Porsche 911, three Volkswagen Karmann Ghias, and a gray Ram 1500 TRX
Dream homes
The Powerball winner has also been busy buying luxury homes with his winnings. This includes a property that really is anyone’s dream residence. His Bel Air mansion cost him $47 million but looks to be well worth that figure.
There are 11 bathrooms, an infinity pool, a serene koi pond and seven bedrooms. It’s all luxury he could never have afforded before winning his $2 billion Powerball jackpot.
It’s not his only mansion though, he owns three in California. Another is in Hollywood Hills and there’s also one in Altadena. Altogether it’s believed they cost him $76 million. Other luxury features include a champagne tasting room (he can afford quite a few bottles), a suspended glass walkway, gyms, home theaters and DJ turntables.
One worrying time for the Powerball winner was when he found himself in a legal dispute. Jose Rivera falsely alleged that Castro’s life-changing winning ticket had been stolen from him. Rivera is now facing being possibly charged for making a false police report.
Saturday's Powerball jackpot is $280 million. What would you buy if landing the top prize?
