Scratchcard Winner Can Avoid Doing House Renovations

Losing a game of golf is a disappointing experience. Winning $1,000 a week for five years on a scratchcard is the exact opposite. That’s just what happened to a couple in Bli Bli in Queensland, Australia earlier this month. Now they can afford to get someone else to do their home renovations.

Their fantastic win came on the Live the Life Instant scratchcard. It was purchased from the Infinity News store in Bli Bli. The male half of the lucky couple explained how their purchase was all part of their routine.

Tradition

“We have a little tradition of playing a game of golf and then going and buying a few Instant scratch-it tickets,” said the delighted winner

It’s something that has seen them “win a few dollars here and there,” but this is by far their biggest scratchcard win.“I had scratched two Live the Life symbols but was almost finished scratching the ticket and so I thought ‘oh, well, this isn’t a winner,” said the soon to be surprised winner. Then he saw that he had all three of the symbols needed to win the top prize. “I couldn’t believe it. It was surreal,” was his immediate reaction to the great win,

How Much?

Even though his partner was right beside him, he didn’t tell her about their amazing scratchcard win. Instead, he just asked her to check the scratchcard and she thought it had won $1,000. That fact excited her but then her partner asked her to check it again.

“We went absolutely berserk after that,” laughed the scratchcard winner. He added, “there were plenty of profanities and lots of screaming and cheering.”

He describes their win as “a dream” and can’ wait to start living life to the fullest. Home renovations that he’s been putting off can now happen. “I hate doing them,” he said. “Now I don’t have to! Instead, I am going to pay someone to do them for me.” Other plans include going on a “a few holidays” so they can visit their family.
