Trip Down Under for £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery Winner

There was a great final week of September for nine neighbours in Wallington in London. England. They won the People’s Postcode  Lottery Sunday Street Prize on September 26. Eight of them won £30,000 but one lucky player had two tickets and scooped £60,000.

One of the £30,000 winners was retired bank worker Toni. The lucky player is still getting over the news of her People’s Postcode Lottery win. Toni is known as someone who tends to talk a lot, but she was speechless when hearing of her win. “I’ve never had a phone call like it in my life,” she said.

Busy day

The People’s Postcode Lottery winner retired six years ago. She’d been working in a bank for over 42 years. It was a busy day when she learned of her £30,000 win. Toni was taking part in the 5km Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK. It’s the latest of her good deeds as the week before, she was busy donating blood, something she regularly does.

Her plans for the £30,000 winnings include giving some to her four godchildren. The People’s Postcode Lottery winner said: “I have four godchildren so I'd pass some money on to them, each of them has families of their own, so they can do what they want with it, for their kids."

Lord of the Rings Fan

Since her retirement, Toni has gone on several holidays with friends. Now she hopes to be able to visit some of the destinations she’s always dreamed of visiting. This includes New Zealand as Toni is a big Lord of the Rings fans and wants to see where the movies were filmed. Closer to home she wants to go to Northern Ireland. Why? Well, that’s where some of Game of Thrones was filmed and she loves that too.

Before all that though, Toni wants to buy a new sofa. A new three-piece suite for her lounge is desired as her current sofa is broken. She’s also “absolutely chuffed” for the other winners in the small cul-de-sac.
