As Neil Trotter won the £107.9 million EuroMillions jackpot last weekend, his ex-girlfriend was sunning herself in Mexico on her honeymoon. Discovering that her previous partner had become a multi-millionaire, she said it was ‘typical’ and was bound to happen.
Last weekend car mechanic and racing car driver Neil Trotter won big on the EuroMillions lottery after predicting just that lunchtime that he would wake up a millionaire. When he did wake up millions of pounds richer, however, his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has a ten year old daughter, was waking up to her honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
Mr Trotter had a daughter with Kirstine Hamilton ten years ago, but they split soon after with Mr Trotter finding love with his current partner, Nicky, and Mrs Hamilton falling for her now husband and then neighbour, Michael Hamilton. The pair remains on good terms and share custody of their daughter; however Mr Trotter revealed that just because his ex is also the mother of his child, he wouldn’t be treating her to any luxuries out of his lottery winnings.
When asked if, now that he had won big on the lottery, he would be buying his ex-partner a new house, Mr Trotter laughed off the suggestion, admitting that he believed Mrs Hamilton and her new husband were rich enough as it is. Telling the assembled press at his big lottery reveal on Wednesday of this week, Mr Trotter explained “She’s just got married. He’s in Formula 1. They are well off and live just up the road from me.” He went on to explain that Mr Hamilton works for Bernie Ecclestone and that he has a healthy relationship with the couple.
On learning that Mr Trotter had accomplished his dream of winning big on the lottery, Mrs Hamilton sent him a message saying “That’s just typical of you, Trotter!” According to family members Mrs Hamilton is over the moon for the father of her child and is enjoying her luxury honeymoon without a care in the world.
Mr Trotter told the press that he plans to spend his lottery winnings on his main passion in life, car racing, but that he will spare some of the money on his current girlfriend, Nicky, with who he has been for eight years. Mr Trotter immediately hung up his mechanic’s overalls after the lottery win and plans to enjoy luxury holidays, new cars, a mansion or two and shopping sprees with his partner.
