CAUTIOUS EUROMILLIONS WINNER CAN’T WAIT TO BUY A HANDBAG OR TWO

A couple from Ashby in Leicestershire, England have won £53,590.20 in the Friday April 8 EuroMillions draw. It took a while though to convince Rowena Barnwell and her husband Richard Brown they’d really won.The morning after the EuroMillions draw, Rowena received an email from the National Lottery telling her to check her account. She did that immediately, expecting to have won a “few pounds.” She couldn’t believe her eyes when discovering the ticket had won £53,590.20.The 50-year-old rushed downstairs to tell her 56-year-old husband the news and he confirmed what she’d seen and called Camelot. His wife said her head was spinning so went for a run but took her phone with her as Camelot said they’d call her back. Still she wasn’t sure if it “was real and not a spoof.” It wasn’t and that call was made confirming the EuroMillions win. It’s the latest big win in the Midlands region of England. Last week families in Stoke were celebrating after winning £25,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery. It’s an exciting time for the couple who both support Premier League leaders Leicester City. They quickly told their son Josh, 21 (also an accountant) and 18-year-old student Molly. In the evening they celebrated their win with champagne and chocolate. Scottish couple David and Donna Hendry won £4,078.50 playing UK Lotto and celebrated with a breakfast at McDonalds.Rowena didn’t tell her mother about the EuroMillions win until they’d had more contact with Camelot, “just in case it wasn’t real.”The EuroMilllions winning couple haven’t decided what to do with their winnings yet, but the pair of accountants have pledged to be “cautious” with their windfall. It’s unlikely then they’ll spend £10,000 on a Lady Gaga collection like £148m EuroMillions winner Adrian Bayford. They won’t be going on holiday like Powerball winner Shiran Araldes from California, USA, as one is already booked. They do intend treating their family just like £1m UK Lotto winner Lynne Groves did with her windfall. Rowena does have one item she wants, saying “I do like a nice handbag or two.”What would you buy with a lottery windfall? Play online with us at Lottery24.com to discover it.
