Kildare Irish Lotto winner vows to share his prize with family

Lottery24 – Irish Lotto winner is sharing with familyAn army paramedic from Kildare in Ireland has won a huge €500,000 Irish Lotto prize, and he plans to share his prize with his family and friends.

Another paramedic lottery winner was from Washington State in the USA, who won $150,000 on the Hit 5 Lottery. Jim Carroll, 51, was joined by his wife Anna when he collected his Irish Lotto prize from Lotto headquarters in Dublin, but she wasn’t the only member of his family to show their support. The couple’s seven children, as well as extended family and close friends also surrounded the couple as they posed with their large cheque for €500,000. Another couple of lottery winners from Kildare were finally able to go on holiday after winning €500,000 on the EuroMillions Plus.

Mr Carroll told lottery officials that he’s been playing the Irish Lotto since 1988, when the game first began, and the ticket that he won with was purchased for a drawing at the end of last month, on June 28th. The lucky winner said that he checked the ticket the morning after the draw, when he had just finished at night shift at the Curragh Camp Defence Forces base, where he is stationed. Another Kildare lottery winner actually watched her numbers come up live on TV when she won €250,000 on the Irish Lotto.

The winner said that he was so shocked to have won so much money on the Irish Lotto that he couldn’t go into work the following day for his next shift. “I was in absolute shock,” the lucky winner said. “I was in no fit state to go to work the following day so I had to ring my boss to let him know that I wouldn’t be able to as I had won a few quid on the Lotto!” Awoman from London also had to ring her boss to ask for a day off after winning £1 million on the EuroMillions.

Mrs Carroll said she was equally as surprised about their lucky Irish Lotto win, but said it was fantastic to be able to celebrate with their family. “We have seven children so we won’t be long about spending it on them – they have their eye on a few things!” the lottery winner said, before adding that himself and his wife have already bought themselves each a new car, and they plan to pay off their mortgage with the winnings, just like an Irish family syndicate after they won €10.65 million on the Irish Lotto.
