€369,210 EUROMILLIONS WINNING SYNDICATE HIRE SPECIAL BUS TO CLAIM WIN

It’s been a good month for Irish lottery syndicates and another is celebrating a big win. They scooped €369,210 in the July 11 EuroMillions draw and had a special way of collecting their win in Dublin.

At the weekend, we told you of the syndicate that recently won a €29m EuroMillions jackpot. This latest winning syndicate come from Cork and travelled up to Dublin on a specially hired bus. The syndicate members work for the Barry Group, a wholesale distribution company based in Mallow. Members are aged between 22 and 60 and their boss Jim Barry joined them on the bus to Dublin.

Their spokesperson, Emma Quaid said that the syndicate has been playing EuroMillions together for over four years but never dreamed of such a big windfall. Another Irish syndicate won a €150,000 EuroMillions prize the first time they played. Last year an Irish syndicate took a bus to collect their €24m EuroMillions jackpot but then again, they were all bus drivers.

Their bosses might not be too delighted with the syndicate’s EuroMillions win as the spokesperson joked “I don’t think there was too much work done in the office last Wednesday.” After collecting their EuroMillions win, a few glasses of champagne were planned before returning to work the next day.

The EuroMillions winners will spilt the winnings equally, each taking home €18,460. Several of the syndicate members have young families so their share of the win will be extremely helpful. Emma said that others were planning holidays while a few are talking of getting new cars.

Jim Barry said he is delighted for his staff. “They are a terrific bunch of people and I could not be happier for them. I wish them all the luck with the win and hope it brings them lots of joy and pleasure.”

There’s no talk of any of the lucky EuroMilllions winners quitting their jobs. Paul Hindo from Canada continued working even after he won $22m playing Lotto 6/49. The syndicate bought their winning EuroMillions ticket from Foley’s Foodstore in Mallow. It matched the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars in the July 11 EuroMillions draw. The winning numbers were: 14-22-26-42-50 and the two Lucky Stars 08 and 10. The jackpot was won in that draw with a ticket sold in Portugal winning a €17m EuroMillions top prize.
